So when a member needed help, he did what had to be done to do it. Never had he thought that would include getting gross stuff spit up on his shirt and changing smelly, dirty diapers. He valiantly learned to supporting tiny heads and to burp the little munchkins more than once while feeding them a bottle.

He was still a little confused by the three grannies in the corner, each wearing a flower that Pip had pinned on them when they arrived. Before the day was done he was going to talk with each of them, just to make sure they were good enough to be around the baby girls. There was also the rumor going through the team that if you were nice to them, they made cookies.

Treb kept a watchful eye on the progressing activities and carefully noted everyone’s body language, especially Pip’s. Jack had been worried how Pip’s family may treat him on their visit. So far the eldest brother had tried to get a football game started, of course excluding Pip because he was so much smaller. In Treb’s opinion the guy was trying to see whose dick was the biggest. Since most of the team, except him, was over six feet tall, they shut that shit down real quick.

Brian’s other brother, the professional baseball player, didn’t seem to feel the need to make any statements. He made an effort to talk to everyone and looked like he was actually having a good time. Treb hadn’t missed the spark of chemistry going on between him and Tony. The computer expert had taken one look at the baseball player and had pretty much staked his claim. That was gonna be a hoot to watch.

Treb’s attention was caught by the little butterfly that was Pip’s sister. Cut her hair a little shorter and get rid of the skirt and there was Pip. Although Treb would have to say Pip may be even a little more delicate. The sister was dragging a pudgy, unhappy guy around, introducing him as her fiancé. Just from what Treb could see, that relationship wasn’t lasting. Treb had found after talking to her that she was surprisingly nice and really pretty, after all she did look like Pip. If he had been into women, he probably would have shown her what a drip the fiancé was and asked her out himself.

Cade was now taking pictures of Pip and Jack holding the babies with Pip’s parents standing on each side. Treb could just see the commitment ring tattooed on Jack’s finger peeking out between the folds of the white baby blanket. What was with all of his fellow team mates getting tattoos on their fingers crap? First Cade, now Jack. Treb could hear the old song, “Another One Bites The Dust”, running through his head.

Last night Treb had come across Pip and his mother alone in the kitchen. He had planted himself near the door listening in on their conversation. Hell, he wasn’t apologizing. He took protecting his family seriously. Even from members of their birth families. Turned out hurts of the past were being discussed and put to rest. Treb could see that Pip had looked a lot more at ease with his family’s visit after that.

Treb knew his time hiding in the corner was coming to an end when he saw that Bret had spotted him. Bret knew Treb was mean as a snake and could kill a person a hundred different ways using his hands or with a weapon. Treb also tended to have swear words peppering his language and didn’t care what many people thought about him. But Bret ignored all that. He had pulled a reluctant Treb out of more corners and forced him to participate instead of observe in more situations than he could count since they had met. But Bret, Pip, and the team were some of the few people in the world whose opinions Treb did care about. So Treb put a smile on his face as Bret came to get him.
